The Junior State is unique in that we are entirely student run, and students attending our Spring State convention elect our leaders for the upcoming year. Our student leaders are elected to represent and address the concerns of everyone in our diverse state. They have the sole responsibility to appoint a student cabinet to coordinate our overnight conventions, communicate important information to chapter leaders, and fundraise to make our organization affordable. As such, we urge you to read about each candidate’s vision for JSA so that you may cast an informed vote. To learn more about the intended purpose of each elected position, please read our Fair Elections Committee Handbook. Candidates are listed alphabetically by first name.
If you are unsure of which district your chapter is in, please contact Governor Nari Johnson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
CANDIDATES FOR OHIO RIVER VALLEY GOVERNOR
My name is Kate Majidzadeh, and I’m a junior at Olentangy Liberty High School. I’ve been involved in this organization since being unwillingly dragged to a Medical Marijuana debate, where I ended up finding a new home. I decided to run for Governor because I believe in the mission of JSA to provide a civic education and leadership opportunities to students. I want to build upon the strong foundation this year’s cabinet has established, and expand the reach of JSA throughout the ORV.
Hi! My name is Weston, and I’m running to be your 2017 ORV Governor. I feel that we’ve poured an incredibly strong foundation this year, and next year we just need to keep building on that foundation. We will set expansion and fundraising as top priorities so that JSA can have an impact on more people, while at the same time fine tuning the experience for current members. I believe I have the experience, commitment, and platform to continue moving the ORV forward, and I encourage you to check out the comprehensive platform at www.westonforgov.com or personally reach out to me.
