Wilson Dunn, Mayor
Wilson Dunn is a senior at Servite High School. Since joining, Wilson has attended nine state conventions, various one days, and the JSA Summer Institute at Georgetown University. Last year, Wilson served as a Deputy Director of Debate, and he currently serves as the SER Mayor. Throughout his time at JSA, Wilson has grown into someone more politically active and aware than he ever could have imagined. Outside of JSA, Wilson enjoys playing chess, basketball, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Aside from JSA, Wilson participates in many activities at school including Her Servants’ Kitchen, Academic Decathlon, Investment Club, and Cross Country.
Jen Franklin, Vice Mayor
Jennifer Franklin is a senior at Tarbut V’Torah Community Day School in Irvine, CA. She has been involved in JSA since her freshman year. Jen has served as a Chapter Coordinator and a Deputy of Development on state cabinet. This past spring, Jen was elected to serve as this year’s regional (SER) Vice Mayor. Jennifer loves to surf, scuba dive, and play on her school’s varsity soccer team. She is sad that this is her last year in JSA; however, she is excited that she gets to spend it working on the regional level. She is expecting great things from the Southern Empire Region and the state this year.
Torin Siegel, Chief of Staff
Torin Siegel is a rising senior at Servite High School, and has been dedicated to the JSA mission statement since freshman year. He is currently the Director of Activities for his JSA chapter and the Chief of Staff for the Southern Empire Region. Torin is also Co President of the Bulls and Bears Investment Club and Co Captain of the Debate team. In his free time, Torin enjoys spending time with friends and family, mountain biking, and swimming.
Matthew Hutnyan, Conference Coordinator
Matthew Hutnyan is a senior at Orange Lutheran High School in Orange, and lives in Irvine. He has been involved in JSA since freshman year, and this will be his second year serving as Conference Coordinator for the Southern Empire Region. Aside from JSA, Matt is involved in Orange Lutheran’s Student Leadership Team, currently serving as ASB President, and the American Red Cross, currently serving as Orange Lutheran’s chapter Treasurer. He spends most of his free time reading, watching Netflix, cooking, and hanging out with his dog. Matt believes that it will be a great year for the Southern California Junior State and is honored to serve alongside a great regional cabinet as the Southern Empire Regional Conference Coordinator.
Isabelle Yang, Director of Debate
Isabelle (Seo Jeong) Yang is a junior at Arnold O. Beckman High School. After discovering JSA her sophomore year, she was intrigued by its objective. She realized that JSA served a purpose where peers just like her could gain wisdom about not only politics and government but the world that surrounds her. Now, she is able to contribute her actions and words through this welcoming organization. Isabelle is determined to serve her role as the Director of Debate for the Southern Empire Region and is ecstatic to be engaged with students in similar interests.
Outside JSA, Isabelle is either out on the tennis courts playing for her high school tennis team or painting away at the local art studio. She also enjoys volunteering on the weekends at a community home where she teaches kids how to draw and paint.
Hannah Lee, Director of Chapter Alliance
Hannah Lee is a rising senior at Beckman High School and has been engaged in JSA since freshmen year. She attended Stanford Summer School last summer. And this year she will also lead the Beckman chapter as chapter president. Aside from JSA, Hannah enjoys golfing with her teammates, debating with her Parli partner, traveling with her family, browsing at Michaels, and making fun Girl Scout cookie desserts. Hannah really looks forward to a great year in the SER department. But most importantly, she is so ready again to share the JSA spirit with numerous statesmen and stateswomen. She is humbled to serve as the Director of Chapter Alliance for the Southern Empire Region.
